The Capital’s Office of Sustainability, in partnership with WCTY Channel 16, is proud to announce the Capital’s first green construction documentary. The film is titled “Green Construction in Indianapolis: Making a Sustainable Future” and is hosted by green living expert Sara Snow. The approximately 54-small documentary features many of Indianapolis’ green construction projects. The film clarifies the gears of green buildings, the strategies used to ensure optimal environmental repayment and cost savings, and the substance of partnerships in the design and construction process. The purpose of the documentary is to say Indianapolis residents about the concept of green construction, highlight the Capital’s leaders in sustainable construction projects, and provide a resource pro more detailed information on preeminent practices by featuring The Nature Conservancy’s new Center of operations construction. The Efroymson Conservation Center is seeking LEED Platinum official recognition. This documentary project started as a partnership between the Office of Sustainability and The Nature Conservancy. In ahead of schedule 2009, as The Nature Conservancy was preparing to break disturb a curfew on the construction of their new center of operations buildings, the Office of Sustainability approached WCTY Channel 16 and The Nature Conservancy with the perception to video-paper the construction process.
